The future is indeed bright for students in web development
Webpage development entails learning Hypertext Markup Language (HTML), text linking, uploading and downloading internet files, and website design to accommodate online sales and marketing. This hands-on curriculum also entails learning how to creat and manipulate graphics, activate special webpage features, use JavaScript, work with multimedia platforms, and much more.
Whether a prospective student decides to work as a freelance or as part of a design team, he or she must be able to update content, monitor site traffic, maintain site security, combine photos with text, convert text and graphics into HTML code, and be able to add sound, video and animation to any website. The explosion of e-commerce in the past decade has resulted in a tremendous demand for web designers. This seems to be an ever-expanding field that enjoys a challenging and stable work environment.
There are a number of specialties with web development, including database administration, network system communication, telecommunications specialists, and, of course, webpage development.
Database administrators are trained to deal with massive amounts of data. They must be able to store, manage, and extract data quickly and efficiently. The organization and storage of data is essential to the database administrator, often involving the integration of older databases with newer, and often incompatible, databases. Trained web developers and database administrators must be able to plan security measures to protect the integrity of any given website.
Network system analysts are trained to test, design, and evaluate various Internet networking systems, including local area networks (LANs), wide area networks (WANs), intranets, and more. Network systems can connect offices in the same building or offices across the globe. Network analysts are trained to perform network modeling, analysis, and planning using both software and hardware solutions.
Telecommunications specialists must balance the interaction between computer and communications equipment. They are responsible for designing voice and data communication systems and for providing maintenance after installation.
Web development can also include webmasters, designers, and developers. Webmasters are responsible for all technical issues regarding a website and its server. Web designers and developers are trained to create the look, interactivity, and flow of a webpage. They must find a balance between usability and creativity. If a site is too complex, most users will simply search elsewhere, If, on the other hand a website looks amateurish, it too will make people think twice about accessing it. The future is indeed bright for students eager to learn the ins and outs of web development.
