Industry specific BCA Programme from GGSIP University in Distance Mode

To meet up with shortage of information technology professionals, we propose to launch a Three years distance learning BCA – Bachelor in Computer Applications course in new-age information technology arena. This course will focus on in demand technologies such as Information Security, Artificial Intelligence, Bioinformatics, Data Mining and analytics, Java, .Net, Oracle, Linux, Data Structures, C, C++ among others in its 3 year curriculum and would be based on international university pattern. The course will offer specializations in 5th and 6th semester as per the IT used industry sectors such as Telecom, Retail, IT/ITES, Manufacturing, etc. The degree issued by GGSIPU will be BCA with specialization in Telecom/Retail/IT/ITES/Manufacturing, etc. depending on electives chosen in 4th and 5th Semester.

BCA programme will be with following major specialization: -

* Telecommunications
* Life Sciences
* Banking & Retail
* Software engineering
* ITES [BPO/KPO]
* Embedded Technologies

Award of BCA degree

The duration of the entire programme shall be 3 years comprising of 6 semesters, namely, I, II, III,  IV, V and VI semesters. It will have 3 Modules. Module-1 shall be comprised of first year of the programme, namely, Ist and IInd semesters, Module-2 shall be comprised of second year of the   programme i.e., IIIrd and IVth semesters and Module-3 shall be comprised of the third year of the programme i.e., Vth and VIth  semesters.

The total credits of the programme shall be 120 ; all the three Modules, i.e., Module-1, Module-2 and Module-3  shall be comprised of 40 credits each.

Eligibility criteria

“Passed in 12th class or 10+2 of CBSE or equivalent examination”.

OR

“Three years Diploma in any branch of Engineering from any recognized Diploma awarding Institute/ University / Board recognized by AICTE”.
