Girls prefer staying away from Professional education
According to a government report, Professional education remains a less preferred area for girl students as 85 per cent of them enrol in conventional streams of Arts, Science and Commerce . The enrolment of girl students in education has increased from less than 10 per cent at the time of independence to 41.4 per cent in 2009-10. The number of girl students enrolled in different streams in 2009-10 stands at 56,49,102.
