Microsoft Exam Preparation
If you are interested in undertaking Microsoft Certifications, then you will need to complete one or more Microsoft exams. Some simple tips can be used to increase your chances of successfully completing these exams.
Always prepare well for these exams. Use textbooks for reference materials, training videos and virtual machine software to thoroughly test your knowledge of the key concepts. Always make sure you know your way around the operating systems and applications that you will be tested on.
Apart from the physical computer that you may use for running the software, everything else can be free. Most Microsoft software is free for a test period such as 120 days or in some cases 180 days. Use this software for this period of time for testing. Hyper-V is free and built-in to Windows Server 2008. VMWare server software is also free.
When preparing for a Microsoft Certification exam always first know your material. Bring to the testing center 2 forms of ID, with one displaying a photograph of who you are for confirmation. Make sure you feel comfortable sitting in your seat, breathe and relax before starting the exam. Pace yourself through the exam. If the exam has 60 questions and the time limit is 120 minutes, then you know you have around 2 minutes to answer each question.
The exam allows you to mark and review each question. This means that if you feel like there is some questions you may like to come back to and review at the end of all the questions, and you have time to do so, then this method may work well. Sometimes, you may have a mental block, and find that other questions in the exam help you to answer previous questions.
Also be prepared to answer some survey questions at the start and end of the exams. Good luck!
