In tune with its decision to adopt smart technology in the conduct of examination, Bangalore University (BU) has evaluated 45,000 hand-written answer scripts of BCA examinations held in May 2011 digitally, and hosted them online.

Students will be able to view their answer scripts by logging into www.bu-admexam.in with their register number. The answer scripts will also be made available to students through their registered e-mail IDs and SMS alerts.

The university tied up with Mindlogicx, a Bangalore-based knowledge management company, to launch the project, Digital Valuation System (DVS), Vice Chancellor N Prabhu Dev told reporters on Wednesday.

The initiative would reduce sharply the time taken to obtain photocopies of answer    scripts. A student can get her/his photocopy almost immediately, a far cry from the earlier system in which students had to wait for about a week to get a mere photocopy of their answer sheets.

Bachelor of Business Management (BBM) and Bachelor of Computer Applications (BCA) courses would be offered by Bangalore University (BU) through the distance learning mode from the ensuing academic year.

Distance Education Council (DEC) has approved the BBM and BCA courses for the university. Presently, the university is waiting for the approval of Master of Business Administration (MBA) and Master of Computer Applications (MCA) courses under the distance education. Moreover, the syllabus for BBM and BCA has also been accepted by the university under the semester scheme.

Bangalore University (BU) has decided to start BCA and BBM distance education courses from the academic year 2009-10. According to the semester scheme, the syllabus has already been approved for the courses. “We will start MBA and MCA distance education courses also, after getting approval from the central distance education council,” According to BU registrar Sanjay Veer Singh.
